AMARÉ

2024-09-20_Batuq-1094-1.jpg

AMARÉ is a trio that navegates between the rich heritage of Brazilian music and the expansive freedom of jazz improvisation. Their name reflects a duality between—“A Maré" (the tide) and "Amar é..." (to love is…)—mirroring the fluidity and emotional depth that defines their sound.

Comprised of the award-winning voice of Céline Rudolph (Deutscher Jazz Preis 2024), alongside the refined touch of the Brazilians Henrique Gomide (piano) and João Luis Nogueira (guitar), they ground their compositions in the rhythmic intricacies of Brazilian traditions, while venturing into uncharted sonic landscapes through sophisticated textures and daring improvisations.

On stage, AMARÉ generates an atmosphere that’s both immersive and electrifying—where moments of deep introspection meet bursts of wild, untamed energy. Their performances resonate with a sense of familiarity while pushing boundaries, offering a fresh take on modern jazz infused with the pulse of Brazil’s musical heartbeat.

Their debut album is set for the Fall 2025 (Challenge Records).

The singer and globetrotter Céline Rudolph navigates the realms of experimental jazz, Brazilian music, African-influenced music, and evocative chansons, as well as urban singer-songwriter sounds, moving effortlessly between Berlin, São Paulo, Paris, and New York. She allows herself to be carried by genres, languages, and cities, always landing precisely in the realm of music.

Winner of the Deutscher Jazz Preis 2024 and the ECHO Jazz Award 2010 and 2018, Céline has played next to Naná Vasconcelos, Lionel Loueke and many others.

Brazilian pianist Henrique Gomide is gaining recognition across Europe as a prominent figure in modern Brazilian music. In his projects the pianist effortlessly blends Brazilian genres, jazz, classical music and improvised music.

Among his collaborators are Mathias Schriefl, Tony Lakatos, Bart van Lier and John Ruocco, as well as Brazilian luminaries Mateus Aleluia, Paulo Belinatti, Yamandu and Guinga.

João Luis Nogueira is one of the most requested Brazilian guitarists in Europe, having performed alongside Valentina Mullova, Uli Bekerhoff and others.

« Celine Rudolph is a fantastic live musician who indulges, beyond programmatic patterns,

with inexhaustible energy between jazz, pop and rhythmically pulsating Brasil sounds.»
